Kolkata: National Testing Agency experienced issues with the final answer key for the JEE Main Session 2 Paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech), releasing a revised version on Friday, April 18 after a previous one was briefly available and then removed. This revised key corrected answers for two physics questions following candidate feedback, changing the answer for question ID 347577574 from 125 to 5 and for question ID 603421799 to 0. However, two other physics questions: IDs 347577562 and 347577939 remained dropped, consistent with NTA's policy to award all candidates four marks for incorrect questions.

This situation echoes past JEE Main exams where questions were also dropped due to errors. Coaching centres analyzing the revised key still point to discrepancies, noting that while some answers were corrected from the initial final key, others might still be inaccurate. JEE Main Session 2 Paper 1 was conducted from April 2nd to 8th, with the provisional key released on April 11th, and results are expected by Saturday.

Al coaching institute reported 11 total answer changes compared to the provisional key, spread across physics, mathematics, and chemistry, with the April 3rd shifts seeing the most revisions. These answer key errors compound the NTA's recent challenges, following controversies surrounding alleged paper leaks in the NEET-UG 2024 exam.

Another institute?s analysis indicated shift-specific changes, with no alterations in the April 2nd Shift 2 key but changes in others, including a fluctuating math answer and a dropped physics question awarding bonus marks.

Prior to the answer key, candidates also reported problems with their response sheets showing incorrect or blank answers. But NTA has not yet responded to requests for comment on these allegations.
